De Staat - Kitty Kitty

For Dutch band De Staat, we created the music video for their single Kitty Kitty – a song that thrives on tension, repetition, and a hypnotic groove. Our goal was to translate that energy into a visual world that feels equally unsettling and magnetic.

Shot with minimalistic precision but designed to feel larger than life, Kitty Kitty mirrors De Staat’s trademark mix of playfulness and menace. It’s a piece where music and image lock together in a way that pulls the viewer into the band’s unmistakable universe.

Kitty Kitty is a song that crawls under your skin, hypnotic and relentless. For the video, we wanted to channel that same sensation – a world where repetition becomes power, and power becomes spectacle.

The piece is built on contrasts: control and chaos, playfulness and menace, the individual and the collective. Torre stands at the eye of a storm of bodies, movements looping and multiplying until they form a living pattern, a system that feels both absurd and unsettlingly familiar.

Rather than illustrating the song literally, the video acts as a visual trance. Each frame is designed to draw you deeper into the rhythm, to blur the line between watching and being caught inside it.
