Work

Four songs, four short films, one director. For Anouk's album Sad Singalong Songs, Dana Nechushtan made a series of films that each tell their own small drama. We produced all four.

The idea
Chapters from the same book.
Dana Nechushtan and writer Franky Ribbens built the series around one simple idea: the big moments in life that turn everything upside down. Every film stands on its own, but watch them together and they feel like chapters from the same book.
Each film has its own cast of well known Dutch actors, and Anouk herself turns up in every one of them in a small cameo. Spotting her is half the fun.
Birds was part of the series too. It became the Dutch entry for the Eurovision Song Contest and has its own page. These are the other three.

Kill

With Raymond Thiry and Monic Hendrickx
A wife and mother makes a painful sacrifice and keeps the truth to herself. A quiet, tense film that stays with you long after the song ends.

The Good Life
With Anneke Blok and Martijn Lakemeier
A young man makes a gruesome discovery about himself. Dark, close and uncomfortable, in the way only a good short film can be.
Pretending As Always

With Teun Luijkx and Hannah Hoekstra
A man in a white rabbit suit on a doorstep in the red light district of Amsterdam. The strangest of the three, and maybe the most touching.

Our role
Dana and Franky came with the stories. Our job was to make sure they could tell them.
We organised the shoots from start to finish: planning, locations, crew, logistics and everything in between, so the team could put all their attention on the films.
